We all went out to eat at the Melting Pot that night when I realized Pete was sick. His face was blood red and he was sweating. That is not normal for a ten year old boy. I knew there was something wrong during his baseball game. He wasn’t playing like himself. Right before we got our food, Peter grabbed his stomach and fell on the ground.

I took him to Vanderbilt Children’s hospital right away. I left behind my husband with Lucy. It would have been too much of a hassle to all go. Peter started dry heaving in the car. When we got to the hospital the nurse could tell that he needed attention right away. He went in for surgery almost immediately. He had to have his appendix removed. Fortunately no one told him all of this, because he is scared to death of cuts.

To my dismay I found out that my insurance wasn’t about to pay the whole bill. I was told that since I authorized it it was my responsibility. I was outraged but what was I supposed to do. I looked online and found that I could get money fast in a car title loan in Nashville, Tennessee. Car title loans are a safe way to get money fast.

Now Pete is feeling much better. I still can’t get him to help with chores again yet. I think he feels entitled to be lazy now. That’s going to change.
